Sustainability Statement
A Restorative Force By 2015
Deliberately Incorporating Environmental Values in Our Business
At Ecologic, we are on a constant search for ways to offer superior value to our clients while also serving needs of the community and our planet. As part of an overall corporate sustainability agenda, like many companies, we are pursuing an “industrial ecology” strategy: We deliberately incorporate environmental values into product design, engineering processes, and operational decisions.
The Global Growth in Environmental Standard Certification
ISO 14000 is a family of environmental management and reporting standards launched in 1996. ISO 14001 was revised in 2004 to help organizations operate in an environmentally sustainable manner. Up to the end of December 2006, approximately 129,199 ISO 14001:2004 certificates were issued in 140 countries and economies. The 2006 total represents an increase of 18,037 (+16%) over 2005 when the total was 111,162 in 138 countries and economies, according to the survey. Service providers accounted for 27% of all ISO 14001:2004 certificates issued up to the end of 2006.
Our Sustainability Objectives
In addition to living our corporate values everyday, we are committed to achieving ISO 14001 certification by the end of 2012. We are starting out on a very long journey. However, the pursuit of our vision and mission will drive Ecologic to continually improve our business in ways that go beyond an exclusive focus on corporate profits, toward creating a company that generates positive financial, environmental and social profits. We hope our company will become a sustainable and restorative force on the planet by 2015.
